Vou postar aqui algumas fotos tiradas por mim em eventos com tradução simultânea (sem revelar a identidade do cliente ou do evento propriamente dito – a confidencialidade vem sempre em primeiro lugar!). A ideia é dar a vocês uma ideia de como o evento é visto e vivido a partir da perspectiva do intérprete.

Na tela do computador, há um arquivo de excel: é um extenso glossário preparado por mim com base em uma apresentação de power-point enviada com antecedência pelo cliente. Foi assim que aprendi a terminologia científica que seria utilizada. Os post-its contêm as palavras mais difíceis que poderiam fugir da lembrança imediata, então foi por isso que decidi mantê-las bem diante dos meus olhos. Foi um evento difícil, mas o cliente mostrou-se satisfeito no final, e é isso que importa!

I’ll be posting here some pictures taken by me in real life simultaneous translation events (without revealing the client’s identity or anything about the event itself – confidentiality always comes first!), so that you can have a glimpse of how the events are seen and experienced from the interpreter’s perspective.

On the computer screen, you can see an excel file: an extensive glossary which I prepared based on a power-point presentation sent well in beforehand by the client. That’s how I learned the specific scientific terminology that would be used. The post-its contain the most difficult words that could escape immediate recollection, so that’s why I decided to keep them right before my eyes. It was a tough event, but the client was happy at the end, and that’s all that matters!
